County Effectiveness Evaluations

Back to Enforcement Statistical Profile

Title 3, California Code of Regulations section 6394(a), requires the Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) to evaluate every county’s pesticide regulatory program at least once every three years. DPR evaluates counties on how closely they followed their approved enforcement work plans and whether they implemented an effective pesticide use enforcement program. When necessary, DPR and the county agricultural commissioner jointly develop and document corrective actions to improve county program areas identified in the performance evaluation report.

Enforcement Letter 17-08 provides additional information on county work plans and the performance evaluation process. However, the performance evaluation template from ENF 17-08 has been revised and the updated template is available in ENF 18-16.

This glossary, PDF (26 kb) defines terms and acronyms that may appear in performance evaluations. DPR is posting county performance evaluations dated after January 1, 2017.
